Call for registrations to EUHeritage MOOC 2022 on the promotion and management of cultural heritage!

The DAISSy research group of Hellenic Open University (http://daissy.eap.gr/) re-launches the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), developed in the framework of the European project EUHeritage: Skills for promotion, valorization, exploitation, mediation and interpretation of European Cultural Heritage (https://www.euheritage.eu/).

The project was funded under the Erasmus+/KA2/Sector Skills Alliances programme and created a new transnational curriculum for cultural professionals and students, focusing on digital and transferable competences as well as social skills linked to the ‘tourism experience’ in the cultural heritage sector. The project was implemented with the collaboration of 10 institutions from 8 European countries – the DAISSy group of HOU participated as the main technological partner of the project representing Greece.

The online training programme is offered again in 2022, by the MOOC Platform developed by the DAISSy team for the EUHeritage project. The online course starts on Monday 26 September 2022. The online course is offered free of charge, in English. Successful learners will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion and Online Open Badges!

DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), Greek project partner of the project “Skills for promotion, valorisation, exploitation, mediation and interpretation of European Cultural Heritage – EUHeritage” invites you to attend online the Final International Conference “New skills for cultural heritage & tourism” on the 17th   of December 2021 at 10.00 – 13.00 CET.

The Final Conference of the European project EUHeritage will take place live in Matera (Basilicata, Italy) with invited speakers, Dr. Achilles Kameas and Mrs. Panagiota Polymeropoulou, DAISSy research group – Hellenic Open University.

EUHeritage is a transnational project developed under Erasmus+ EU program (Sector Skills Alliance for Design and Delivery of VET) coordinated by Materahub. The EUHeritage project in the successful event ” Cultural Heritage as a springboard for entrepreneurship ” of the DAISSy research group of HOU

euheritage-logoThe national online event entitled “Cultural Heritage as a springboard for entrepreneurship”, organized on November 29, 2021 by the DAISSy research group of the Hellenic Open University, with the support of the association “Hippocrates in Larissa” was successfully completed.

The event was attended by many guest speakers from the city of Larissa, who represented the field of culture, tourism and business and had the opportunity to present strategies, training programs and examples of good business practices in the promotion and utilization of the cultural inventory and in strengthening the tourism product.

The event was addressed to cultural professionals, managers in the field of culture and tourism, vocational education and training providers, business consultants, managers of small and medium enterprises in culture and tourism, decision makers, representatives of municipalities and cultural associations as well as students and graduates in culture and tourism and kept the interest of the participants undiminished for several hours.

Ms. Panagiota Polymeropoulou, Researcher at the EUHeritage project, in the DAISSy Research Group – Hellenic Open University, presented the EUHeritage project and the MOOC online training program developed and provided within the project, attracting more than 1000 enrollments from around the world and with a significant percentage of successful completion of the course by the Greek side. In her speech entitled “Culture, Tourism and Entrepreneurship through the EUHeritage project” she stressed the high interest that Greece has always shown, for training programs and lifelong learning on issues of management, promotion and exploitation of cultural heritage as well as issues concerning archeology and museums.

The EUHeritage project colleague and trainer – moderator of the national pilot, Ms. Zoe Akrivouli, Economist-Business and Development Consultant, Researcher DAISSy Research Group- Hellenic Open University, spoke about the pilot program which has been completed at the national level for Greece and the practical learning and training of the tool “Experience design canvas for culture and tourism professionals in Greece”.

The event was greeted with enthusiasm by the local media from the city of Larissa, with posts and press releases about the event, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship in culture and tourism. We would like to thank all the invited speakers for their interesting presentations as well as the participants for their support. A certificate of participation was sent to all those registered on the form.

9th ENCATC Members Talk on “Cross-disciplinarity and Innovation in Cultural Heritage Training”

euheritage-logoThe 9th ENCATC Members Talk on “Cross-disciplinarity and Innovation in Cultural Heritage Training” on 25 September from 14:30-15:30 (CEST) will bring together members of ENCATC, AAAE, TACPS, and representatives of EU projects researching and developing innovative training schemes for cultural heritage professionals.
This conversation, which will be moderated by ENCATC member, Alberto Gulli, Head of Training at Fitzcarraldo Foundation, aims to discuss about the gaps in training and how to adapt to new demands in the new normal.

For this edition, ENCATC invited Erminia Sciacchitano, Officer – Minister’s Cabinet presso Italian Ministry for Culture, Heritage and Tourism along with special guests from EU heritage projects:  Emmanuele Curti, Materahub, Italy; coordinator of the EU Heritage project; Karin Drda-Kühn, Kultur und Arbeit e.V., Germany; coordinator of the HERITAGE-PRO project; and Joanna Sanetra-Szeliga, the International Cultural Centre (ICC), Poland; coordinator of the ILUCIDARE project on behalf of ICC.

This event is proposed by ENCATC member Fitzcarraldo Fondazione in the framework of the Erasmus+ EU Heritage project, aimed to create a new transnational curriculum for cultural heritage professionals, focused on digital skills, transferable and transversal competences, soft skills and skills connected to “experience tourism” in the field of cultural heritage. DAISSy research group, HOU is partner in EUHeritage project.

EUHeritage project report: Skills profile for European Cultural Heritage

euhe-summaryThe first report of EUHeritage on Skills profile analysis is out! The DAISSy research group of Hellenic Open University, partner of EUHeritage project, participated actively in the research by conducting desk research, quantitative research (survey) and qualitative research (interviews) with professionals from the cultural sector in Greece.

The current research was carried out in the period February-September 2019 as part of the project Skills for promotion, valorisation, exploitation, mediation and interpretation of European Cultural Heritage.

The report presents the data collected by the research analysis at European level.
