Nikos Achilleopoulos

Nikos Achilleopoulos is a qualified and experienced engineer, specializing in Digital Strategy consulting, project management and policy making. He has managed a large number of successful projects in almost all European Countries, the Balkans, Russia, Israel, and S. Korea, having also collected sound technical experience, by leading SW products and integrated systems development, and managing Partner & Vendor alliances.

Nikos, born in Munich Germany, in 1970, holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MSc Degree – University of Patras), and MSc in Social Economy. Nikos has received education and training in European Commission Policies, Quality Management, Project Management Methodologies, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001. Technically he received training on software solutions from Oracle, IBM and Microsoft, but is also proficient in open source solutions.

With over 25 years of working experience, previous successfully completed tasks include initiation, project and/or technical management and coordination of large international and national projects for ICT, consulting firms and academia.

Recent appointments include:

  • Expert for France Expertise, Provision of Individual Expertise Services as part of the International Cooperation Project “Accelerate the digital transformation of the Greek economy"
  • Project manager for an Interreg project (TeleIcce) aiming at promoting Business2Freelancers and e-learning systems to SMEs
  • Senior Project Manager for H2020 projects
  • External Independent expert for the Science and Technology Options Assessment body of the European Parliament on studies and policy options related to the “Collaborative Economy”.

He acted as representative for his clients on industry forums and the European Commission, such as the ETSI User Group, the European Public Procurement Group. He chaired the "Future Internet of Personalized and creative media" workgroup of the User Centric Media Cluster of the European Commission Networked Media Unit. Editor of several White Paper and Analysis documents. In the 0’s supported the e-bsn European business support network for SME’s.

 

He is a registered independent expert for the EC and has been reviewer and evaluator for the monitoring of ICT Programme, a task which he also performed for the Greek Ministry of Εducation. He speaks fluent Greek, English, and German.

Nikos is member of the European Commission' "Digital Skills and Job Coalition" and of the Greek National Coalition on Digital Skills and member of the ReBrainGreece taskforce initiated by the Greek Ministry of Labour.
