CRITON (www.criton.eu) is a european survey about the timely assessment of the achievement of learning outcomes. The main outcome of the project will be a web based platform that will record learnerstextquoteright progress and provide tools for analyzing their performance and estimating the chances of finally achieving the planned learning outcomes. The project is divided into 8 Work Packages (WP). Hellenic Open University (HOU) is the Leader of WP2, which will study the different assessment methods used in e-learning environments around Europe resulting to the definition of the most widely used assessment practices and helping the partners (from Germany, Austria, Lithuania, Greece, Finland and Sweden) improve the practices they currently apply. In this paper, the main results of the field research in the case of tutors in Greece are been presented.
