DAISSy held the III Migrants’ Employment Multistakeholder Working Group in the framework of project MILE

mile-logo-300x215On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, from 11:00’ to 13:40’, DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) successfully held the III Multistakeholder Working Group online meeting in the framework of the project “MILE – Migrants Integration in the Labour Market in Europe”.

The meeting was facilitated by Eleni Georgakakou, Project Manager and Researcher of DAISSy, and the main axes of discussion evolved around the three (3) MILE Multistakeholder WG main themes, specifically:

  • Training methods and tools for integrating immigrants into the labor market
  • Social and individual support for the involvement and continuous assistance of immigrants upon entering the labor market
  • Needs of employers and long-term support strategies.

A significant number of more than 25 organizations attended the meeting from various sectors, including Governmental Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Research Centers, Universities, Employers’ Association, etc.

The presentations were followed by a Q&A session, and the meeting was concluded with a most active dialogue between the speakers and other attendees, specifically focusing on the challenging period and the importance of coordination of actions between organizations such as the example of MILE Multistakeholder WG periodical sessions.

The original agenda had once again to be expanded and instead of 11:00’ – 13:00’, the meeting was afterall finalized at 13:40’. Η Ερευνητική Ομάδα DAISSy συμμετέχει στις Ημέρες Erasmus στο πλαίσιο του έργου BIBLIO

Erasmus-Days-biblioΗ 4η διοργάνωση των «Ημερών Erasmus» (Erasmus Days) είναι εδώ στις 15-17 Οκτωβρίου 2020! Ελάτε μαζί μας για τον τριήμερο εορτασμό του προγράμματος Erasmus+ στην Ευρώπη και πέρα από αυτήν, κατά τη διάρκεια των #ErasmusDays.

Κατά τη διάρκεια αυτών των τριών ημερών, δικαιούχοι του προγράμματος Erasmus+, Ευρωπαϊκοί εμπλεκόμενοι φορείς ή/και απόφοιτοι του προγράμματος διοργανώνουν διάφορες εκδηλώσεις για να μοιραστούν την εμπειρία τους στο Erasmus ή/και να διαδώσουν νέα σχετικά με τα έργα τους που έχουν λάβει χώρα στο πλαίσιο του Erasmus+.

Εκθέσεις, συναυλίες, διαγωνισμοί, σεμινάρια, δικτύωση συνεργατών, «ανοιχτές» ημέρες δράσεων, διανομή εγγράφων Κινητικότητας Europass, ψηφιακές εκδηλώσεις και άλλα! Υπάρχει ένας ειδικός αποκλειστικός Ιστότοπος με χάρτη εκδηλώσεων (map of events) ώστε κάθε ενδιαφερόμενος-η να μπορεί να ενημερωθεί για το τι συμβαίνει σε όλο τον κόσμο κατά τη διάρκεια αυτών των ημερών. Και το έργο μας Biblio είναι επίσης εκεί!

XENIA Final Report on the Common Research Methodology for Equality in Higher Education Institutions is now available online

xenia-logoThe Work Package 1 (WP1) results’ and its abstract, the first phase of XENIA Erasmus+ project, are now available online. DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), the Greek partner, has contributed to all WP1 stages and outputs.

XENIA is an ambitious 36-month-lasting Erasmus+ project that is being implemented by a consortium of 7 partners from 5 European countries (Italy, Greece, Ireland, Slovenia, Spain). The aim and objectives of this project are to develop and implement an Inclusiveness Index to support Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in European Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

Specifically, an algorithm matrix based will measure the level of social and educational inclusiveness of sexual minority and gender marginalised students and staff within the HEIs context. The project will also share practices and tools for promoting and improving equality, diversity and inclusion. All the intellectual outputs will be available in five (5) languages, namely English, Spanish, Italian, Greek and Slovenian.

The primary aim of WP1 has been the development of a Common Research Methodology which has guided the work and contributions of all XENIA partners for this Work Package. The key activities underpinning this common research methodology were: the identification and classification of HEIs into five (5) relevant and appropriate thematic areas; the development of 64 indicators that signify inclusion of gender diverse and LGBTQ+ students and staff, categorised into subsections under one of the thematic areas and the development of tools and resources for promoting inclusion across HEIs.

DAISSy research group participates in the online Community of Practice about European Digital Skills Certificate

DG EAC of European Commission recently published the European Digital Education action Plan 2021-2027: Resetting education and training for the digital age. DEAP updates the 2018 Action Plan and is based on two priorities: (a) Fostering the development a high performing digital education ecosystem, and (b) Enhancing digital skills and competences for the digital transformation. Among the actions that will be supported in the context of the second priority is the introduction of a European Digital Skills Certificate. You can find the entire DEAP here.

The European network ALL DIGITAL, of which DAISSy is a member, has been leading the discussion at European level regarding a homogeneous European framework for the assessment, validation and certification of digital competences. To this end, ALL DIGITAL has recently established and is maintaining the Certification Community of Practice, an international community of organizations and individuals who have a strong interest in the certification of digital skills. Prof. Achilles Kameas, Director of DAISSy, is one of the moderators of this community.

The Certification CoP aims to produce a roadmap towards the European Digital Skills Certificate, as a result of inclusive and creative dialogue, always in the context set by the Digital Education Action Plan and for the benefit of European citizens. At the same time, the Certification CoP will identify the actions that must be funded in order to realize the roadmap.

STE(A)M-IT 2nd co-creation workshop with the participation of DAISSy

steamit2020On Friday October 2nd, 2020, the STE(A)M IT project organized its 2nd co-creation workshop. The 60 participants attending included representatives from 6 companies, 14 Ministries of Education, as well as 8 experts in STEM Education, 5 researchers and 15 teachers. All participants had the opportunity to discuss and exchange on the status and development of the STE(A)M Integrated framework and the enrichments of its various components.

Achilles Kameas presented the achievements of STEAMonEdu project, which is coordinated by DAISSy research group.

DAISSy research group participates in the DigComp online Community of Practice

digicomp21The European Digital Competence Framework, widely known as DigComp, has been developed by JRC to serve as a common referent for the description of the digital skills that are necessary for every citizen to be part of the digital transformation of European societies. The description of version 2.1 of DigComp is available here.

You can also read the “DigComp into Action: Get inspired, make it happen” Guide here. The Guide contains examples of DigComp application and includes two of DAISSy projects, DCDS and MuSA, as best practices.

The European network ALL DIGITAL, of which DAISSy is a member, is leading the maintenance of DigComp and the production of new versions, which will reflect more accurately the ever evolving IT technologies and their effects on the digital competence landscape. To this end, ALL DIGITAL has established and maintains the DigComp Commumity of Practice, an international community of organizations and individuals who use DigComp in their everyday practice. Prof. Achilles Kameas, Director of DAISSy, is one of the moderators of this community.

The DigComp CoP has already contributed to the design of DigComp 2.2, which is expected to go public in the Spring of 2021. Η χαρτογράφηση των επιχειρηματικών δυνατοτήτων των αρχαίων Ρωμαϊκών δρόμων είναι πλέον διαθέσιμη!

leadToRomeΣτο πλαίσιο του Ευρωπαϊκού έργου ROMAN ROUTES διερευνήθηκε το επίπεδο γνώσης των φοιτητών σχετικά με την επιχειρηματικότητα και τον τουρισμό των αρχαίων Ρωμαϊκών δρόμων, διεξήχθη χαρτογράφηση των Ρωμαϊκών διαδρομών σχετικά με τις υπάρχουσες οικονομικές και πολιτιστικές δραστηριότητες που συνδέονται με αυτές τις διαδρομές, καθώς και την οικονομική τους δυναμική. Η ερευνητική ομάδα @DAISSy ανέλαβε τη διεξαγωγή της έρευνας για την Ελλάδα.

Σύμφωνα με τα αποτελέσματα, οι Ρωμαϊκές διαδρομές έχουν μεγάλες δυνατότητες να γίνουν μια σημαντική οικονομική κινητήρια δύναμη και αφετηρία για νέα έργα οικονομικής ανάπτυξης, τόσο σε τοπικό επίπεδο όσο και σε διεθνικό.

Οι Έξυπνες Πόλεις δεν είναι απλώς μια ιδέα ή ένα όνειρο του μέλλοντος. Είναι ένας τομέας πολύ δυναμικός και ζωντανός που σημειώνει εντυπωσιακή ανάπτυξη και αυξανόμενες προοπτικές επαγγελματικής σταδιοδρομίας τα τελευταία χρόνια.

Το DevOps Competencies for Smart Cities MOOC (Smart DevOps MOOC) αναπτύχθηκε στα πλαίσια του Ευρωπαϊκού Έργου ERASMUS+ “DevOps Competencies for Smart Cities” στο οποίο συμμετέχει η ερευνητική ομάδα Daissy, για να αντιμετωπίσει αυτές τις προκλήσεις και να προσφέρει εκπαίδευση υψηλής ποιότητας. Φιλοδοξεί να επιτρέψει στους εκπαιδευόμενους να αποκτήσουν και να αναπτύξουν βασικές ικανότητες που απαιτούνται για την αντιμετώπιση των προκλήσεων στα πλαίσια της ενασχόλησής τους (τρέχουσας ή μελλοντικής) σε θέματα διαχείρισης και εξέλιξης των έξυπνων πόλεων.

Το Smart DevOps MOOC παρέχεται Δωρεάν, είναι στην Αγγλική γλώσσα και προσφέρει:

  • Σύγχρονο πρόγραμμα σπουδών που αναπτύχθηκε από ειδικούς (Εξειδικευμένους Επαγγελματίες με μεγάλη εμπειρία, Καθηγητές ΑΕΙ) υπό υψηλά πρότυπα διασφάλισης ποιότητας
  • 15 εκπαιδευτικές ενότητες που παρέχουν τις κατάλληλες δεξιότητες (μεταβιβάσιμες/transferrable και ψηφιακές/digital) για επαγγελματίες Έξυπνων Πόλεων

Εργαστήριο: STE(A)M Education practices and competences (πρακτικές και ικανότητες εκπαίδευσης STE(A)M)

Είστε εκπαιδευτικός; Διευθυντής σχολείου; Πάροχος Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης και Κατάρτισης; Διαμορφωτής εκπαιδευτικής πολιτικής; Ή είστε απλώς περίεργος;

Αυτό το εργαστήριο είναι για ΣΑΣ!

Εδώ είναι γιατί:

Η εκπαίδευση STE(A)M εξελίχθηκε από την εκπαίδευση STEM, όπου το “A” είναι ένας όρος που αντιπροσωπεύει τομείς όπως οι φιλελεύθερες τέχνες, οι γλωσσικές τέχνες, οι κοινωνικές μελέτες, οι φυσικές τέχνες, οι καλές τέχνες κ.λπ. και ο στόχος της είναι να ενσωματώσει τη δημιουργική σκέψη σε έργα STEM και να οδηγήσει στην ανάφλεξη της φαντασίας και της δημιουργικότητας των μαθητών μέσω των τεχνών. Αν και είναι κοινώς αποδεκτό ότι οι βασικές ικανότητες STEM είναι κρίσιμες για την επιτυχία στις περισσότερες από τις τεχνικές, μηχανικές, ακόμη και διευθυντικές εργασίες, αρκετές μελέτες έχουν δείξει ότι, χωρίς τις «Τέχνες», είναι αδύνατο για τους μαθητές να αξιοποιήσουν πλήρως τις δυνατότητές τους!

Αλλά μάντεψε! Καμία μετάβαση στην εκπαίδευση STEM ή STE(A)M δεν θα είναι ποτέ δυνατή χωρίς την ενεργό και πλήρη συμμετοχή των εκπαιδευτικών. Καθώς οι στρατηγικές διδασκαλίας αλλάζουν, οι εκπαιδευτικοί πρέπει να ενημερώσουν τα προφίλ ικανοτήτων τους προκειμένου να αντιμετωπίσουν τις εκπαιδευτικές προκλήσεις που απορρέουν από την εκπαίδευση STE(A)M.

Αυτός είναι ο λόγος για τον οποίο οι εταίροι του έργου STEAMonEdu έχουν ορίσει τους εκπαιδευτικούς ως πυλώνες της εκπαίδευσης STE(A)M και έχουν δεσμευτεί να υποστηρίξουν την επαγγελματική τους ανάπτυξη. Κοιτάξτε το πρόγραμμα αυτού του εργαστηρίου για να μάθετε πώς:

Workshop: How to Crowddream?

The art of Crowddreaming (CDDC) is a methodology that connects young people and educators with cultural heritage and digitalisation in a unique co-creation process that contributes to the common understanding of the European history and values, intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding.

Crowddream is a vision for the improvement of the society which comes to life when it is turned to a compelling story that captures the imagination of a crowd big enough to make it happen.

Workshop participants will learn about:

  • Crowddreaming methodology (origin, objectives and results of its use)
  • Curriculum and MOOC that empowers educators (teachers, trainers, coaches, facilitators) for use of the Crowddreaming with young people in schools, digital learning centres, etc.
  • Experiences with implementation of the methodology in 5 European countries.
  • Europa Square – a lasting digital monument dedicated to Europe as a transcultural laboratory.
  • How to set up your own Crowddreaming activity and connect with peers across Europe.

About Crowddreaming: Youth co-create digital culture project

“Crowddreaming: Youth co-create digital culture” is an Erasmus+ project implemented in the framework of the annual KA3 call on Social Inclusion and Common Values: The Contribution in the Field of Education and Training managed by Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission.

The purpose of the project is to disseminate and scale-up at European level a good practice in the field of the valorization of digital cultural heritage as a mean for inclusive education and for the promotion of European values among youngsters.

The good practice identified is “Crowddreaming: youths co-create digital culture” born as a contest for Italian schools and promoted by the Italian association Stati Generali dell’Innovazione, whose aim is to create a lasting digital monument dedicated to Europe as a transcultural laboratory.

The Crowddreaming project involves 5 partners coming from 5 European countries. The pilot action is being implemented in 4 Countries (Croatia, Greece, Italy andLatvia,) and addresses secondary school teachers (20 in each country) and students (400 in each country).
