DAISSy-HOU invites you to the online Workshop on exploiting the GenderED-Coalition results

logo-genderedThe DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) invites you to the online workshop to be organized in the framework of “GenderED Coalition: A cross-country coalition against gender disinformation for equitable societies“ European project, where it participates as the Greek partner. Mainly, the workshop aim at strengthening critical thinking and develop Media and Information Literacy skills.

More precisely, the workshop is organized by DAISSy-HOU, it takes place on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 (15:30–17:00 EET) and focuses on an open exchange and discussion with members of the “Board of Experts” of the GenderED-Coalition project, namely Athina Peglidou, Assistant Professor at AUTH (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece), Panagiotis Chaldeos, Political Scientist, and Marianna Stefanitsi, Gender Researcher.

The main objective of this workshop is to link the results of the GenderED-Coalition project with topics such as:

  • The gendered dimensions of disinformation
  • Strategies to address gender-based violence in the media
  • The role of civil society and experts in shaping practical solutions

The target group of this activity include:

  • Students and young professionals in Gender Studies, Media Studies, and Journalism
  • Educators and content creators
  • Journalists, activists, and members of civil society organizations
  • Any individual interested in developing critical perspectives towards media and social networks

It is noteworthy, that:

GenderED Coalition is a two-year project co-funded by the EU CREA programme of the European Union  and implemented by a consortium of five (5) partners from four (4) European countries: Bulgaria, France, Italy, and Greece. It addresses the fight against gender disinformation as a basis for fairer societies, focusing on media literacy and gender equality. The project has successfully shed light on gendered disinformation and online gender-based violence while empowering social media users through gender-sensitive awareness.
