On December 30, 2019, the two-year European Erasmus+ project YouBrand – Storytelling and Pitching for Start-ups was completed. In this project DAISSy research group of Hellenic Open participated as the Greek partner.

The project aimed to develop modern skills needed by young entrepreneurs of the 21st century, with emphasis on start-ups development. More specifically, YouBrand project developed and pilot tested an innovative training curriculum and digital content for the development of the following key competences:

• Employability skills
• Corporate storytelling
• Personal storytelling
• Personal Branding
• Crowdfunding
• Business model canvas
• Pitching

The above educational material is freely available on project web site.

Each seminar is accompanied by an educational guide, which is addressed to both instructors and trainees, and contains information on how to effectively use the educational material, as well as study material, exercises, self-assessment questions, etc. The guide as well as the educational material is provided in English, Spanish, Greek, Italian and Polish.

The educational products of the YouBrand project were presented to prospective young entrepreneurs through pilot training but also to information events held in all participating countries. In Greece, the information day organized by the DAISSy research group was attended by more than 70 interested participants, mostly prospective entrepreneurs, trainers and students.

The background

Since 2016 entrepreneurship has been defined as one of 8 key competences by EP (18.12.2006) in lifelong learning process school education faced a lot of pressure and changes in terms of teaching programme in entrepreneurship within basic education programme. All national activities were mainly focused on development suitable training material, supporting tools for teachers in secondary, high VET schools as well as universities. A lot of activities were preformed at national and international level (also in EU project) – like online games, online trainings etc. to enhance entrepreneurial spirit of youngsters.

What is missing now is a new approach to adult and their entrepreneurship skills.

Adult learners represent group of unemployed, excluded groups, often with not very good educational background. Even if they are ready to run their own business they do not have as good ICT, social skills as younger EU citizens.

What is YouBrand?

YouBrand is a project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, as a Strategic Partnership for the Developmeng of Innovation in Adult Education.The YouBrand project directly responds to EU policy documents and programmes fostering:

• entrepreneurship and start-up as a means to reduce unemployment and increase the EU competitiveness
• the improvement of entrepreneurial education\
• the development of ITC competences

Who are we?

We are a European partnership with plenty of experience in entrepreneurship and adult education leaded by The Centre of Continuing Education No. 2 in Lublin (Poland), working with Agenfap (Italy), Inercia Digital (Spain), Gecko Programmes Ltd (United Kingdom) and the Hellenic Open University (Greece).

What did we develop?

IO1: Training path for business start-up support for adult learners

This training path aims to define, adapt to the target group (adult learners, disadvantaged people) and integrate in a single training process a set of innovative competences to facilitate the business start-up success and resilience.

IO2: Trainers training path for business start-up support

In close connection with the previous result, we’ve designed a blended training path for trainers aimed at updating their competences to manage the implementation of the training programme (IO1) in each partner’s country. This training path involves and targets trainers and partners staff.

IO3: Web Community platform

The Community targets mainly trainers active in entrepreneurship and business start-up support sector.
It works as an online shared collaboration area aiming at becoming a reference point for the trainers and VET providers community.
In this virtual space participants can:

• Share a set of teaching/learning and informative resources developed by the project
• Share updated resources, discussions
• Share issues and topics and find shared solutions
• Acquire insights and suggestions on the sector
• Share common projects ideas

Η ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy του Ελληνικού Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου σας προσκαλεί σε εσπερίδα με τίτλο «Ανάπτυξη σύγχρονων ικανοτήτων νέων επιχειρηματιών», την Τετάρτη 11 Δεκεμβρίου 2019, ώρες 18:00 έως 21:00, στο Παράρτημα του ΕΑΠ στη Λάρισα, Ηρώων Πολυτεχνείου 211.

Η Εσπερίδα διοργανώνεται στο πλαίσιο του Ευρωπαϊκού Έργου “YouBrand – Storytelling and Pitching for Start-ups” (http://youbrand.cku2.eu/en/), το οποίο χρηματοδοτείται από το Πρόγραμμα Erasmus+ της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και στο οποίο συμμετέχει η ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy του Ελληνικού Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου. Το έργο έχει ως στόχο την ανάπτυξη σύγχρονων ικανοτήτων που είναι αναγκαίες για τους νέους επιχειρηματίες του 21ου αιώνα, όπως η βελτίωση των ικανοτήτων εύρεσης εργασίας, η δημιουργία εταιρικής αφήγησης, η δημιουργία σύντομων εταιρικών μηνυμάτων, η δημιουργία εταιρικής επωνυμίας, η εύρεση κεφαλαίων από το πλήθος, η δημιουργία επιχειρηματικού καμβά, κ.α. με έμφαση πάντα στις νεοφυείς επιχειρήσεις.

Η κοινοπραξία περιλαμβάνει συνολικά 5 εταίρους από 5 χώρες (Ελλάδα, Ιταλία, Πολωνία, Ισπανία και Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο), με Επιστημονικό Υπεύθυνο για το Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο τον Αχιλλέα Καμέα, Καθηγητή ΣΘΕΤ ΕΑΠ.

Στόχος της Ημερίδας είναι να παρουσιαστεί το έργο YouBrand, οι δραστηριότητές του, τα ερευνητικά αποτελέσματα καθώς επίσης και οι υφιστάμενες προοπτικές εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης για νέους επιχειρηματίες αλλά και η εφαρμογή αυτών σε πρακτικό επίπεδο.

Η Ημερίδα απευθύνεται σε νέους επιχειρηματίες, σε εκπαιδευτές, σε καθηγητές, σε παρόχους κατάρτισης, σε ερευνητές, σε φοιτητές αλλά και σε αποφοίτους σχετικών τμημάτων.
