We are happy to announce and share with you all that the second project result, the Training Methodology and Course Outline on Diversity Management in Adult Education has been finished and that everyone can have access to it.

In the second intellectual output of DIVINA EDU project you will find a summary of the main needs the teachers and staff underline when managing the diversity in and outside the classrooms, the learning outcomes and content for the course on diversity management we are working on and the methodology is going to be used at it.

Webinar 1 March – Boosting digital skills through Erasmus+

The Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition brings together governments, companies, social partners, NGOs and education providers to tackle the digital skills gap in Europe. Organisations involved in the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition undertake actions to boost digital skills. However, the implementation of such actions may depend on securing funding.

The purpose of the Erasmus+ is to boost skills and employability. The programme is best known for its mobility component which offers young people possibility to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad. Erasmus+ also facilitates transnational partnerships, cooperation for innovation, exchange of good practices and policy reforms.

The Erasmus+ programme can be used to fund actions that contribute to boosting digital skills; this webinar will explore how National Coalitions and pledgers can benefit from this programme.

Το συνέδριο απευθύνεται σε όσους ενεργούν ή ενδιαφέρονται να ενεργήσουν προς όφελος της ισότητας, καταπολεμώντας στερεότυπα και διακρίσεις.

Το έργο αφορά στην καταπολέμηση των πολλαπλών διακρίσεων στην Ε.Ε, που συνιστά ένα βασικό τμήμα των δράσεων της κοινωνικής πολιτικής. Συνδυάζει ερευνητικές δραστηριότητες με κοινωνική παρέμβαση και δράσεις δικτύωσης – ευαισθητοποίησης του ευρύτερου κοινού (εργαστήρια δικτύωσης με τοπικούς φορείς, διοργάνωση info-day και φεστιβάλ) αναφορικά με την καταπολέμηση των στερεοτύπων. Συντονίζεται από το Εθνικό Κέντρο Κοινωνικών Ερευνών (ΕΚΚΕ), με φορείς εταίρους το Πανεπιστήμιο της Σεβίλλης, το Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο, την Οικονομική και Κοινωνική Επιτροπή (ΟΚΕ) και την Περιφέρεια Κρήτης.

Η συμμετοχή στο συνέδριο είναι δωρεάν και θα δοθούν βεβαιώσεις συμμετοχής από το ΕΑΠ με το πέρας των διήμερων εργασιών. Η συμμετοχή είναι δυνατή είτε δια ζώσης είτε από απόσταση.

Όσοι ενδιαφέρονται να συμμετάσχουν δια ζώσης, καλούνται να προσέλθουν στις εγκαταστάσεις του ΕΑΠ, στην Πάτρα (Πάροδος Αριστοτέλους 18, αίθουσα ΠΓ01) ή στην Αθήνα (Γραβιάς 4-6, Αίθουσα εκδηλώσεων Α’ ορόφου).

Όσοι επιλέξουν να συμμετάσχουν από απόσταση (guests), πρέπει να χρησιμοποιήσουν το σύνδεσμο (link). Στην οθόνη που θα εμφανιστεί επιλέγετε τη συμμετοχή με την εφαρμογή Συσκέψεις Skype (Web) / Skype Meetings App και κάνετε εγκατάσταση του plugin. Προαιρετικά συμπληρώνετε το ονοματεπώνυμό σας (υποχρεωτικό εάν επιθυμείτε να σας σταλεί βεβαίωση συμμετοχής).

Ambient intelligence refers to normal working and living environments being surrounded by embedded devices that can merge unobtrusively and in natural ways using information and intelligence hidden in the network connecting these devices (e.g. The Internet of Things). Such devices, each specialised in one or more capabilities, are intended to work together based on an infrastructure of intelligent systems, to provide a variety of services improving safety, security and the quality of life in ordinary living, travelling and working environments.

Το εργαστήριο διοργανώνεται από την ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy του ΕΑΠ και απευθύνεται σε εκπροσώπους φορέων που στο πλαίσιο της δραστηριοποίησής τους ενεργούν προς όφελος της ισότητας, καταπολεμώντας στερεότυπα και διακρίσεις.

Κύριος στόχος του διήμερου εργαστηρίου για φορείς στην Πάτρα είναι η διερεύνηση πολλαπλών διακρίσεων στο πλαίσιο παροχής υπηρεσιών, η ανταλλαγή εμπειριών σχετικά με τις διακρίσεις, ώστε να εξομαλυνθούν τα στερεότυπα πολλαπλών διακρίσεων μέσω διαλόγου με βάση τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα. Απώτερος στόχος είναι η δικτύωση για ανάπτυξη οριζόντιων παρεμβάσεων και κατευθύνσεων πολιτικής για την καταπολέμηση των διακρίσεων.

Η συμμετοχή στο εργαστήριο είναι δωρεάν και θα δοθούν βεβαιώσεις συμμετοχής από το ΕΑΠ με το πέρας των διήμερων εργασιών.

Exploiting Ubiquitous Computing, Mobile Computing and the Internet of Things to promote STEM Education

Organiser: DAISSy Research Unit 3, Computer Technology Institute & Press “Diophantus”
Target Group: STEM teachers, high school (student ages between 14 and 16)

Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp), Mobile Computing (MobiCom) and the Internet of Things (IoT) as state of the art technologies (collectively mentioned as UMI) represent the most recent and explicit attempts to move computer technology beyond the confines of tool usage towards a pervasive penetration of everyday life. UMI technologies emerge both as educational means but most importantly as support mechanism for developing powerful careers in domains such as science education. This workshop will be based on the educational scenarios that have been developed in the context of H2020 project UMI-Sci-Ed. Participants will be given access to UDOO kits (an extended Arduino-based platform with peripherals) to implement the scenarios during the workshop.

Το Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο διοργανώνει τη Δευτέρα 2 Οκτωβρίου 2017, ώρες 16.00 – 20.00, στο Electra Metropolis Athens, Μητροπόλεως 15, Αθήνα, την 1^η Ημερίδα Διάχυσης των Αποτελεσμάτων του Ευρωπαϊκού Έργου P4LLL–tec.

Η Ημερίδα διοργανώνεται από την ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy του Ελληνικού Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου (http://daissy.eap.gr), η οποία αποτελεί εταίρο φορέα του έργου, και απευθύνεται σε εκπροσώπους της επαγγελματικής εκπαίδευσης (VET), της τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης τεχνικών επαγγελμάτων και της αγοράς εργασίας (εκπαιδευτικούς δευτεροβάθμιας και τριτοβάθμιας τεχνολογικής εκπαίδευσης, φοιτητές τεχνολογικών σχολών, επιχειρήσεις και εταιρείες που εμπλέκονται σε Πρακτική Άσκηση κ.λπ.).

Το έργο P4LLL-tec υλοποιείται στο πλαίσιο του Erasmus+/KA2, και αποτελεί πρωτοβουλία φορέων από πέντε ευρωπαϊκές χώρες (Γερμανία, Ιρλανδία, Ισπανία, Ελλάδα και Εσθονία). Σκοπός του έργου είναι η συγκριτική μελέτη του σχεδιασμού και των συνθηκών υλοποίησης συνεργατικών προγραμμάτων σπουδών τεχνολογικών επαγγελμάτων με την αγορά εργασίας, καθώς και η διερεύνηση της επαγγελματικής ταυτότητας των εκπαιδευομένων στην τριτοβάθμια τεχνολογική εκπαίδευση.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της Hμερίδας, αφού γίνει παρουσίαση των στόχων του έργου P4LLL-tec (Erasmus+/KA2), θα συζητηθούν τα αποτελέσματα που προέκυψαν από την εμπειρική έρευνα των συνθηκών και μορφών συνεργασίας ανάμεσα στην τεχνολογική τριτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση και την αγορά εργασίας στην Ελλάδα, σε συνδυασμό με αντίστοιχα ευρήματα για τις χώρες των υπόλοιπων εταίρων της κοινοπραξίας του έργου (Γερμανία, Ιρλανδία, Ισπανία και Εσθονία).

Η συμμετοχή στην εκδήλωση είναι δωρεάν. Στους συμμετέχοντες θα απονεμηθούν βεβαιώσεις παρακολούθησης.

20th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction

HCI International 2018, jointly with the affiliated Conferences, held under one management and one registration, will take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, under the auspices of 14 distinguished international boards.

The Conference will start with three days of Tutorials (15-17 July). Parallel Sessions, Poster Sessions and the Exhibition will be held during the last three days (18-20 July) of the Conference.
