DAISSy Research Group of HOU presented the project Advanced Media Literacy Education to counter online hate-speech at the event “DAISSy days 2021”

DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) as the Greek partner of five EU countries presented the European project “Advanced Media Literacy Education to counter online hate-speech – AMeLiE“, aiming to address the issue of online hate speech.

The presentation took place at DAISSy days 2021, a three-day online event organized by DAISSy in the frame of the European institution Erasmus days, October 14-16, 2021. The event targeted at educators, professionals in culture, librarians, regional authorities, researchers, students, and in general people who are interested in policy making and implementation of actions related to developing skills and professional growth.

Attendees had the opportunity to realise the wide dimensions of online hate speech and the aims of AMeLiE project, i.e. to combat the phenomenon through the empowerment of education. Particular reference was made to the innovative methodology of the project, the successful tools and techniques which are offered to the educational world by experts. Additionally, the presentation denoted the results produced so far, although the project is running its ninth month of operation. An evolving Virtual School Network, a crowdfunded interactive platform for teachers’ training as well as a groundbreaking national research on online hate speech, all of them DAISSy’s tasks and responsibilities, outlined the dynamic profile of the project.

AMeLiE presentation received a most positive feedback from both the participants as well as the event’s facilitators. Worth noting that the event is registered on the world map of the 5^th edition of the #ErasmusDays.

The 1st National dissemination event of the BIBLIO project organized by DAISSy Research Group-HOU in Greece, was a real success!

Undoubtedly, the national dissemination event in Greece, entitled “Enhancing the digital skills of the Library community“, was a very successful initiative! It was organized online on 27^th September 2021 by the DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), within the framework of the implementation of the “BIBLIO: Boosting digital skills ad competencies for librarians in Europe” EU project. It triggered the interest of library professionals, experts and practitioners, representatives of authorities and institutions, active citizens, and more generally anyone interested in the digital evolution within the library world.

More precisely, the dissemination event included six (6) speakers, was attended by more than sixty (60) participants and addressed not only the multiple challenges but also the significant opportunities of the libraries in the digital era, as identified through the BIBLIO project outcomes.

Prof Achilles KAMEAS, Director of DAISSy and Scientific Coordinator of the BIBLIO project in Greece, launched the event by welcoming the participants and then, presenting the valuable work done by the DAISSy Research Group of the HOU. The map of currently ongoing projects was impressive – he emphasized on the strong international character of the Group and its involvement and representation in international networks and scientific boards. He also addressed the firm links achieved by DAISSy in order to relate the BIBLIO project with other ongoing EU projects under implementation (such as DELTA, SILVHER, etc.) aiming at producing a net for the transfer of results and the enhancement of sustainability.

Then Ioanna SEFERLI, Librarian, representing the Distance Library and Information Centre of the HOU (DLIC-HOU) delivered a speech about the activities of this unit. She presented the e-services of the Centre and in parallel she pinpointed the extrovert nature of the DLIC operation in supporting both numerous initiatives of the Academic Libraries in Greece and projects carried out by the Schools and Research Groups of the HOU. In parallel she explained the role of the DLIC of the HOU as the fundamental associate partner of the DAISSy Research Group for the implementation of the BIBLIO project in Greece.

The Project Manager of BIBLIO and researcher of DAISSy-HOU, Eleni GEORGAKAKOU, took the floor and triggered the interest of the participants about the content of the project and its methodology. Through a brief presentation of all BIBLIO work-packages, she emphasized on the demanding project concept, its strong European partnership, its direct link with the needs and challenges of the modern library world and the effective way that the BIBLIO project addresses those challenges and provides tools that benefit the personal development of the library professionals.

The speech delivered by Thomas CHIOTIS, Archivist-Librarian at “Constantinos Simitis Foundation”, followed. It included a detailed description of all types of the research carried out by the BIBLIO project and its findings. Thomas, emphasized on the need expressed by the librarians to update their skills to fulfill their tasks at work and more precisely, their need for strong basic digital skills to answer users’ queries and ensure a level of digital autonomy. He showcased how two new job profiles emerged and presented the expected multiple roles of the Community Engagement and Communication-CECO and the Digital Transformation Facilitator-DIGY.

Then, Leonidas PAPACHRISTOPOULOS, Librarian at DLIC-HOU, presented in detail the BIBLIO MOOC putting emphasis on the way it is linked with the research findings and the tasks of the new job role profiles of CECO and DIGY, so that to address them effectively. All BIBLIO MOOC modules were briefly described as well the timetable, study effort and benefits. Leonidas, also referred to the multi-dimensional content of the BIBLIO training program, by explaining that the MOOC is part of the modular training programme for the development of the competences included in the CECO and DIGY job role profiles, to be followed by the BIBLIO blended training course and the work-based learning activities.

The last speech of the event was delivered by Prof Maria Hatzinikolaou, who is a Professor of HOU and the Deputy Scientific Coordinator of the BIBLIO project in Greece. In parallel she is a member of the Administrative Board of the HEALink (Hellenic Academic Libraries link) and she is fully aware of the role of this association and its activities at national and international level. Therefore, she presented briefly a set of distinctive initiatives of the association and showcased how they are benefited by the BIBLIO findings. In addition, she emphasized on the relation achieved among the HEALink, the DAISSy and the DLIC-HOU towards the promotion as well as the exploitation of both the BIBLIO MOOC and the rest of the project deliverables.

The presentations were completed by announcing the BIBLIO MOOC call for registrations and its official launch on 4^th October 2021 and explaining the registration process which is open (until then) and free of charge.

A brief but vivid discussion took place at the end of the event, through the exchange of questions-answers, comments and interventions by the participants. More precisely, they acknowledged the need for the digital autonomy of the library professionals and the new skills for coping with the challenges of serving their library users through a holistic approach, they made positive remarks on the research findings, they confirmed the importance of the BIBLIO MOOC and expressed their initial interest in its content.

The national event was organized in Greek, a pre-registration process was applied for attending it and all participants received certificates. The organizer has kept all related material (invitations, proof of promotional actions, registration forms, certificates, presentations, photos, etc.) within the dossier of the event.

Η ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy του ΕΑΠ συμμετέχει στην ALL DIGITAL Summit 2021

Η ALL DIGITAL Summit είναι το ετήσιο σημείο συνάντησης όλων των ενδιαφερομένων ατόμων, φορέων και οργανισμών που ενδυναμώνουν τους πολίτες σε όλη την Ευρώπη στη χρήση της τεχνολογίας. Αποτελεί επίσης μια μοναδική ευκαιρία σε πανευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο για τον τομέα ψηφιακής ένταξης να παρουσιάσει επιτεύγματα και να ανταλλάξει ιδέες με φορείς χάραξης πολιτικής σε ευρωπαϊκό και εθνικό επίπεδο, ακαδημαϊκούς, νέους, εκπαιδευτές ψηφιακών δεξιοτήτων και ιδιωτικές εταιρείες μεταξύ άλλων ενδιαφερομένων. Ο φορέας ALL DIGITAL επιδιώκει να συμβάλει στον διάλογο, την εφαρμογή και τη συνεργασία σε δράσεις για την επίτευξη του ψηφιακού μέλλοντος της Ευρώπης.

Η 14η ALL DIGITAL Summit θα λάβει χώρα διαδικτυακά στις 13-15 Οκτωβρίου 2021 με θέμα «Ψηφιακές Δεξιότητες και Ψηφιακά Εργαλεία για έναν καλύτερο κόσμο». Οι τρεις ημέρες της εκδήλωσης θα επικεντρωθούν με τη σειρά τους στα τρία θέματα ψηφιακής ενδυνάμωσης: πολίτες και ανάπτυξη ικανοτήτων, εκπαιδευτικοί και εκπαίδευση STE(A)M, και νέοι άνθρωποι. Ο συνδετικός κρίκος μεταξύ αυτών των θεμάτων είναι η επίλυση πραγματικών κοινωνικών προβλημάτων μέσω ψηφιακών εργαλείων και προσεγγίσεων. Ο βασικός στόχος της εκδήλωσης είναι η αύξηση της ικανότητας, της ετοιμότητας και της ανθεκτικότητας των κέντρων ανάπτυξης ψηφιακών ικανοτήτων. Εκτός από προσκεκλημένες ομιλίες και συζητήσεις στρογγυλής τράπεζας, στην εκδήλωση θα παρουσιαστούν στο κοινό ένα πλήθος έργων και μια σειρά εργαλείων και προσεγγίσεων σε αυτά τα θέματα.

Η εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί σε μια διαδικτυακή πλατφόρμα όπου οι συμμετέχοντες θα μπορούν να αλληλεπιδρούν με άλλους συμμετέχοντες στο συνέδριο και να προγραμματίζουν συναντήσεις 1: 1, καθώς και να ενημερώνονται σε πραγματικό χρόνο για τις αλλαγές στο πρόγραμμα. Πρόσκληση εγγραφής στο Εθνικό Πιλοτικό Πρόγραμμα του EUHeritage!

Η ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy του Ελληνικού Ανοικτού Πανεπιστήμιου, εταίρος του έργου EUHeritage, σας προσκαλεί να δηλώσετε συμμετοχή στο πιλοτικό πρόγραμμα του EUHeritage, που διοργανώνει στην Ελλάδα.

Το EUHeritage είναι ένα διακρατικό έργο που αναπτύχθηκε στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Erasmus+ της ΕΕ. Στόχος του έργου είναι η δημιουργία ενός νέου διακρατικού προγράμματος σπουδών για επαγγελματίες του τομέα της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, το οποίο θα επικεντρώνεται σε ψηφιακές δεξιότητες, μεταβιβάσιμες και εγκάρσιες ικανότητες, κοινωνικές δεξιότητες και δεξιότητες που συνδέονται με την “εμπειρία του τουρισμού” στον τομέα της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς.

Για την πιλοτική εφαρμογή του προγράμματος EUHeritage σε εθνικό επίπεδο αναζητούμε έναν ποικιλόμορφο συνδυασμό νέων επαγγελματιών και φοιτητών. Η επιλογή θα βασιστεί:

στις γνώσεις και την εμπειρία σας σε θέματα πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, πολιτιστικού τουρισμού, πολιτιστικών και δημιουργικών βιομηχανιών ή συναφών τομέων, την άποψη σας περί πρωτοτύπων, τα κίνητρά σας και τη δυνατότητα εφαρμογής της μάθησης.

Το πρόγραμμα έχει διάρκεια 40 ώρες και θα πραγματοποιηθεί με τη μικτή ή και τη δια ζώσης μάθηση (θα καθοριστεί με βάση και τις αιτήσεις των εκπαιδευομένων). Η έναρξη του σεμιναρίου στην πρακτική εφαρμογή του Business Experience Design Canvas προγραμματίζεται στο τέλος του Οκτωβρίου 2021. Η γλώσσα του σεμιναρίου είναι η Ελληνική. Προτεραιότητα στην επιλογή των εκπαιδευομένων θα έχουν οι επιτυχόντες του διαδικτυακού μαθήματος του EUHeritage. Ο αριθμός θέσεων είναι περιορισμένος!

Για να θεωρηθεί πλήρης η συμμετοχή σας, θα πρέπει να παρακολουθήσετε τουλάχιστον το 90% των 40 ωρών του Εθνικού Πιλοτικού Προγράμματος (10% των ωρών χάθηκε χωρίς βάσιμο λόγο) ή το 75% των 40 ωρών του Προγράμματος (25% των ωρών χάθηκε για αντικειμενικούς λόγους).

Η κοινοπραξία EUHeritage εργάζεται για τη διαπίστευση αυτού του μαθήματος σε Εθνικά εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα που σχετίζονται με τον τουρισμό και την πολιτιστική κληρονομιά. DELTA project will be presented with paper in ICERI 2021

The DELTA project partners contribute with the scientific paper “Digital Applications in archaeological education and excavation training: the DELTA course”, to the 14th annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation (ICERI) which will be organized virtually, due to the unstable situation of COVID, on the 8th – 9th of November, 2021. This publication will be included in ICERI2021 Proceedings.

The paper presents the results of the research, online and desk, aiming at recording the existing situation in the three countries regarding: (1) the use of digital applications in archaeological excavations, (2) current courses on excavation practices, methods and techniques and (3) the use of digital educational tools in such courses. This research provided the necessary evidence for the design and development of the DELTA blended training course that combines the use of an online platform with face to face and on-site learning in a joint excavation.

For the last 13 years, ICERI conferences are welcoming more than 800 participants in the field of education. The scope of ICERI2021 includes the following topics like:

Το θέμα των DAISSy days 2021 είναι η ανάπτυξη βασικών και εξειδικευμένων ικανοτήτων σε διαφορετικούς τομείς, όπως εκπαίδευση, πολιτισμός, κα. Απευθύνονται σε εκπαιδευτικούς και εκπαιδευτές/τριες, επαγγελματίες του πολιτισμού, των βιβλιοθηκών, της τοπικής αυτοδιοίκησης, του τουρισμού, κα., ερευνητές/τριες, φοιτητές/τριες και μαθητές/τριες, και γενικά άτομα που ενδιαφέρονται για το σχεδιασμό πολιτικών και την υλοποίηση δράσεων σχετικών με την ανάπτυξη ικανοτήτων και την επαγγελματική ανάπτυξη.

Ιδρύσαμε την ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy (Dynamic Ambient Intelligent Sociotechnical Systems) το 2001 με όραμα την συμβολή στην κοινωνική πρόοδο μέσα από την ανάπτυξη καινοτόμων ψηφιακών τεχνολογιών. Έκτοτε, μέσα από τη συμμετοχή της DAISSy σε περισσότερα από 70 εθνικά και διεθνή έργα, διεξάγουμε εκπαιδευτική και τεχνολογική έρευνα με επίκεντρο την κοινωνία, σχεδιάζουμε εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα, μαθήματα και μαθησιακά μονοπάτια, αναπτύσσουμε ψηφιακό περιεχόμενο, παρέχουμε τα μέσα για την αξιολόγηση και πιστοποίηση των προσόντων και αναπτύσσουμε διαδικτυακές πλατφόρμες μάθησης, MOOCs και τρισδιάστατα περιβάλλοντα. Επιπλέον, η DAISSy υποβοηθά την αναβάθμιση των προσόντων των επαγγελματιών και ιδιαίτερα των εκπαιδευτικών, όπως και την ανάπτυξη ψηφιακών ικανοτήτων από πολίτες, υποστηρίζει διαδικτυακές κοινότητες πρακτικής, συμβάλλει σημαντικά στην υιοθέτηση της εκπαίδευσης STEAM, προωθεί την ψηφιακή πολιτιστική κληρονομιά και υποστηρίζει τον πολιτιστικό τομέα, συμμετέχει στη δημιουργία έξυπνων πόλεων και στην ανάπτυξη της βιομηχανίας 4.0 και χρησιμοποιεί τεχνολογία για την προώθηση της ένταξης και της πολυπολιτισμικότητας.

16:00’-17:20’: Συνεδρία 1 – Συμπεριληπτικότητα και γραμματισμός στα μέσα δικτύωσης και ενημέρωσης, Θα παρουσιαστούν έργα και συγκεκριμένα εργαλεία που απευθύνονται σε εκπαιδευτικούς και αφορούν τομείς όπως ο γραμματισμός στα μέσα δικτύωσης και ενημέρωσης, ο διαδικτυακός λόγος μίσους, η ανάπτυξη τεχνικών λύσεων για την επίλυση κοινωνικών ζητημάτων, η άυλη πολιτστική κληρονομιά, κ.ά.

Θα παρουσιαστούν δράσεις σχετικά με την ενίσχυση της επιχειρηματικότητας στον τομέα της Άυλης Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς, την ανάπτυξη της επιχειρηματικότητας από ευαίσθητες κοινωνικές ομάδες, και γενικότερα τον Πολιτισμό, τον Τουρισμό και την Επιχειρηματικότητα.

Έναρξη εγγραφών στο νέο διαδικτυακό πρόγραμμα κατάρτισης εκπαιδευτικών σε ψηφιακές τεχνολογίες από την ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy του ΕΑΠ

Η ερευνητική ομάδα DAISSy του Ελληνικού Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου διοργανώνει διαδικτυακό πρόγραμμα κατάρτισης εκπαιδευτικών στο πλαίσιο του Ευρωπαϊκού έργου RE-EDUCO – Rethinking EDUcation COmpetencies. Expertise, best practices and teaching in digital era. Το έργο RE-EDUCO ενθαρρύνει την παραγωγή, τον πειραματισμό και την ανταλλαγή νέων προσεγγίσεων και μεθόδων εκπαίδευσης με χρήση ψηφιακών εργαλείων και τεχνολογιών. Γεννήθηκε από την ανάγκη παραγωγής και δοκιμής, σε διεθνικό επίπεδο, μιας σειράς μεθοδολογιών και βέλτιστων πρακτικών για τη βελτίωση των δεξιοτήτων των μαθητών και των εκπαιδευτικών και την ενθάρρυνσή τους να υιοθετήσουν την ψηφιακή καινοτομία στην προσωπική και επαγγελματική ζωή τους.

Το πρόγραμμα θα προσφερθεί δωρεάν στα Αγγλικά από την ηλεκτρονική πλατφόρμα μάθησης που ανέπτυξε η ομάδα DAISSy για το έργο RE-EDUCO. Η έναρξη των μαθημάτων θα γίνει στις 18 Οκτωβρίου 2021 και αναλυτικά στοιχεία για το πρόγραμμα και τον τρόπο εγγραφής και συμμετοχής σας σε αυτά θα βρείτε εδώ.

Οι εκπαιδευόμενοι/ες οι οποίοι/ες θα ολοκληρώσουν επιτυχώς το πρόγραμμα κατάρτισης εκπαιδευτικών RE-EDUCO, θα λάβουν πιστοποιητικό παρακολούθησης.

Η ερευνητική ομάδα #DAISSy του Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο ΕΑΠ – Hellenic Open University συμμετέχοντας στο Ευρωπαϊκό έργο Training 4 Skills in the Digital Environment T4SVEN, το οποίο χρηματοδοτείται από το πρόγραμμα #Erasmusplus Key Activity 2: Partnerships for Digital Education Readiness in Vocational Education and Training διεξήγαγε στις 29 Σεπτεμβρίου 2021 διαδικτυακά εκδήλωση με θέμα «Βήμα στο Μέλλον – Κατάρτιση για Δεξιότητες σε Εικονικό Περιβάλλον».

Στο πλαίσιο της Συνάντησης, που προσέλκυσε περισσότερους από 40 εκπροσώπους των τομέων της εκπαίδευσης, της εκπαίδευσης στον χώρο εργασίας και της χάραξης πολιτικής τόσο σε εθνικό όσο και σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο στην ΕΕΚ, πραγματοποιήθηκε επισκόπηση των δραστηριοτήτων του Έργου, συζητήθηκε το Ερευνητικό Πρόγραμμα του Έργου και έγινε ενημέρωση για την Διαχείριση των Ψηφιακών Δεξιοτήτων για εκπαιδευτικούς ΕΕΚ σύμφωνα με το DigCompEdu.

Συντονιστής φορέας του έργου είναι ο Οργανισμός Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης και Εκπαίδευσης Ενηλίκων της Κροατίας και εταίροι είναι το Πανεπιστήμιο Πατρών (Ελλάδα), το δίκτυο φορέων Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης και Κατάρτισης EVBB (Βέλγιο), το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (Κύπρος) και το Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο (Ελλάδα).

Join us for Social Hackademy International Conference at ALL DIGITAL Summit 2021 (15 October 2021)

Social Hackademy – Consortium cordially invites you to the Social Hackademy International Conference that will take place online on 15 October at 9:00 – 15:00.

The conference will take place in the framework of 14th ALL DIGITAL Summit (13-15 October 2021) that our project partner ALL DIGITAL is organising online. Three day event titled Digital Skills and Tools for a Better World will in turn focus on the three digital empowerment themes: citizens and competence centres; STE(A)M educators; and young people. Explore the Summit PROGRAMME to learn more about the sessions and speakers.

Day three of the Summit will be entirely dedicated to Social Hackademy project where we will present how to empower young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by fostering digitals skills development through collaborative educational activities and actively include them in solving of societal challenges.

Social Hackademy Methodology supports the implementation of innovative actions and projects that demonstrate how digital and social innovation can mutually benefit for the realization of a “Digital Europe” founded on social value and social investments.

The conference will present essential building blocks of the Social Hackademy Methodology and results of its’ piloting:

Curriculums for digital skills training courses (Web Design, Visual and Graphic Design, Native Mobile App Development)
Handbook for educators (trainers, e-facilitators, teachers)
Evaluations results from more than 120 young people, 15 trainers and 20 civil society organisations that took part in in pilot activities organised in Croatia, France, Greece and Italy
Best digital solutions developed by young people at Social Hackathons

The conference will also offer food for thought with two interesting keynotes by distinguished speakers from the field of youth policy and innovation and open space for discussion about potential of co-creation methodologies for young people development.

Finally, you will have an opportunity to participate in the mini hack session that will give participants a taste of Social Hackademy Methodology.

Social Hackademy partners established four Social Hackademy Labs in Croatia, France, Greece and Italy to pilot and test the Social Hackademy Methodology. The activities in the Labs consisted of training courses for young people and Social Hackathons where trainees developed digital solutions for various societal challenges. Four national hackathon winners emerged from the events that compete for the Social Hackademy Award. The session will feature presentations of four teams:
